Cooperatives everything to do with Co-ops |
 |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
It will cost you 375
to start a Cooperative. |
NOTE: When you leave a cooperative
all donations that you have made remain behind, you get nothing back. |
NOTE:
If the leader of a co-op is inactive the leadership will automatically
be reassigned to the highest level deputy after 32 days. |
NOTE:
If every single member of a coop do not come on line at all for a certain period of time (let's say a period of 60 days), the coop gets dissolved permanently.
The same happens, but immediately, when the last member of a coop leaves it - there are no completely empty coops.
If you cannot find the name of a coop in the rankings, it means that coop no longer exists.
If you create a new coop with the same name as another (now non-existent one), you will be starting a brand new coop and thus everything from scratch. |
|
|
New leaders of cooperatives may wonder how they should
add players to their cooperative. There are several ways to do so. |
Where do I find applications? |
On the
Overview
page there is a
Applications button
near the bottom of the page. |
Only you as a leader and your deputies can see this button and click on it. |
It opens a menu that may show several applications. The
applicants have written a short message for you indicating why they
would like to join your co-op. Most of the time, though, this is the
standard message: ‘I would like to join your co-op’. |
For you as a recruiter the
level and the
visit farm button are most important. |
Check if this person is active ( you could also use the
achievement level and RP for this ) and send him/her a message to make sure
he/she understands what you as a co-op want from him/her. |
accept this applicant into the co-op
and
reject this application. |
When clicking Reject I get a new menu that asks me to
fill in a reason for rejecting this application. |
If you would click accept, the player will instantly be added to your cooperative. Congratulations, you got a new member! |
|
What do I do if somebody is interested in my co-op but
does not know how to apply? |
You could have had an in-game message or found somebody on the forums or maybe your friend started playing and would like to join. |
The first thing to keep in mind with forum finds and friends that started playing is that they need to be on the same server as you. If your co-op is on the US server and your friend is on the UK server, you will not be able to add this person to your co-op. |
When you do have someone in mind to join your co-op you
may do a search for him/her in the rankings. The rankings can be reached through several ways, I will mention only one here, you can look for the others yourself. |
On the
Overview
page click on the
Invite
members button near the bottom of the page to open the Rankings menu. |
Rankings has 2 tabs, an
Individual
player ranking tab and a
Cooperative
ranking tab. You want to look for an individual player. |
Now you type in the exact name in the search bar. If you
copy that name from the forums, take the signature name, because a forum
name can have an extra number added.
NOTE: The name must
be spelt correctly. |
If the rankings say that player does not exist, delete
the last number you typed and try again. If they still not find him,
check the spelling of the whole name again to make sure you did not make
any mistake. |
When the rankings do find this person, you click on their
name and a little menu will pop up. In that menu you will see several
buttons. You can
Write
a message or send an
Invitation
to the Cooperative from here. |
|
How do I find members and what should I look for in a
member? |
One of the ways to find members is going to the forums.
In the ‘cooperatives looking for members’ forum you can write a nice
text about your co-op and try to motivate players to check out your
co-op and apply. In the ‘players looking for cooperatives’ forum you can
check the applications people posted. |
The first thing you check is the server. After that you
check the text of the application. Is this person suitable for your
co-op? Then you look them up in the rankings in-game to see if they are
already in a co-op and send them a message if they are interested in
yours. |
Sending a message is important. Some players only want a
co-op to finish their task, but want nothing to do with all the tasks
and responsibilities. They will most likely not respond to your message. |
For a co-op it is not very nice if somebody does not communicate and help out. Therefore I advice players to let the co-ops know what you want. If you just want to complete your task, that is fine, but just let it know. |
The second way to find members is to look in the rankings
for players that do not have a cooperative. |
There is a tricky part about this strategy, some players
actively chose not to join a co-op and do not appreciate being asked
time after time to please join. Therefore, always stay civil with these
players. Ask nicely and politely and write down their names if they say
no so you do not accidentally send them another message! |
You can also check for players in the missions you are in. Is somebody very active in a mission? Look them up in the rankings, they may not have a co-op yet. The lower the level of these persons, the more success you will probably have. This strategy is quite some work and it will take very long to find players that do not have a co-op yet. Be patient if you choose to look for members like this. |
One more tip I can give is advertise your co-op. People
are more likely to check you out if you made it known to the world that
you exist. |
Helping players in the forums is a good way to spread
your ‘business card’. Put the co-op’s name and a nice slogan or some
information in your signature – do make sure the server is mentioned in
there as well and start answering questions in the forums. |
Welcome new players that post in the player introductions forums. The more people get to know you, the better and they may be interested in joining your co-op. |
Of course these strategies are based more on very active
co-ops that want to climb in the rankings than the laid back co-ops that
just want to have some fun. It really depends on you how much work you
want to give yourself and how active your team should be. |
Maybe you do not mind players playing only a few days in the week – in that case you can just accept applications your co-op gets and see how it works out. |
Do get ready for a lot of removing of inactive players if
you decide to use this strategy. And remember, finding members isn’t
easy, you need to persevere if you want to have a nice group of hard
working farmers. |
|
|
When you start the game loads of new things are coming at
you. One of these things is a quest to join a co-op. But how to do that
exactly? |
First of all, don’t stress. You are probably level 6 when you get the quest and the award can be tempting to get quickly. We’ve all started like this. But before you start applying to high level cooperatives keep in mind that they can’t use a level 6, 10, or maybe even a level 20 farm. It costs millions of Farm Dollars to start research sometimes so my first advise to you is: |
Make sure the co-op you are applying for is level appropriate! |
What I mean by this is applying to a co-op where everyone is 30 levels higher than you won’t work. |
When applying through the forum, please note: you can only join a co-op on the same server as you! |
Don’t know which server you are on? Check the FAQ page! |
Once you have built on your farm some more, found your way in the game and know what to expect from a co-op you can start looking for one. You do this by clicking on the Multiplayer feature
button in your farm menu at bottom of screen.
Once you’ve clicked that click the
Cooperative button and you get two options. One option is to find a co-op, the other is to found one. If you’d rather join one to be able to ask for advice to your co-op members, the find option is the one you need. |
Once you’ve clicked ‘Find a cooperative’ a search page opens. There you can see some co-ops that are ‘near’ you or type the name of a co-op you have seen before and would like to apply to. |
When you have clicked the co-op of your choice you will
come to the co-op screen. This screen shows the details of the co-op and
the members in this co-op and, important for you as an applying member,
an Apply button. |
The co-op screen will look like this and contain, as you can see in the bottom-left, an apply button. To the right you see a list with members. The first member, the red person, is the leader of the cooperative. If a member also has a key (usually the leader, but not necessarily) then they are the founder of that co-op. The yellow persons are deputies. They don’t have as many rights as the leader, but they are also able to read applications and start projects or researches. These are the people you should turn your application towards. |

On the next window the ‘I would like to become a member of your cooperative’ is a standard message. The best is to change this message for a personal one. Tell the co-op how active you are or why they should pick you out of many other applicants. This message should be really short though! (about 3 lines). If you are clever, you put in this message that you have sent an in-game message and then you turn to the leader or one of the deputies of the co-op and send them a personal in-game message, so you can write more. |
After you clicked ‘apply’ the application has been successfully sent. Don’t get too upset when you get no reaction, certainly when you are a low level or have a standard message, co-ops are likely to reject your application. Just try again and feel free to send a message to the leader or deputies to ask why you got no reply. They will probably tell you what you can do better next time or maybe all places had already been given away to other people. |

Certain Research needs a certain cooperative level
to be started.
Leveling up can only be done by successfully completing
projects. |
I will start with what CP are and where you can
find them. CP are Cooperative Points and they
are similar to the XP you gain on your farm. |
To see the level of your co-op and the
Cooperative Points it has gained, you open the co-op menu. You will see an orange star in the top left corner of the menu
as shown below. That is the indication for the CP.
As you can see in the image below our co-op is level 352 and we
need 217,417 CP to reach level 353 and we need 559
more Cooperative Points. |
 |
As you can see, all projects have been filled up with
collectibles (green check mark) and are ready to start. Because this
screenshot is made from a leader view, the start button is green, so I
could start the egg project if I wanted. Members will always see a greyed
out start button, because they are not authorized to start the projects. |
On the left you see that the gold star for the eggs
project holds 64 cooperative points. We plan to do the egg project next
and as you can see on the right all collectibles have been filled.
Projects are all about collecting goods, so building up a stock is not
possible. We could start the project with ducks ready to harvest to have
a head-start though. |
When this project successfully completes, we will get the
cooperative points, if we fail however, we get nothing. |
Checking with members in the co-op to see if everybody is ready to go for
a project and estimate if they could harvest what is needed in the days
allowed is a good idea for co-ops just starting out. |
Keep in mind that projects will also level up in the meantime, making
them harder to complete. The best project to do will depend from the situation in your co-op and will be up to you! |

Everybody that is in a co-op has probably noticed the shovel icons on the member tab. But what are these? And how do they work? |
What are Shovels? |
The shovels calculate the project contribution of members to the co-op. The more shovels you have, the better you contributed to the running projects. The ultimate rank of shovels is the golden shovel and rake icon. If you have that icon, you are top contributor. But do keep working on those projects, because you may lose that rank soon if you let go of the reigns for just a bit. The shovels get re-calculated after every project! Here is a screenshot with all possible shovel indications: |
 |
Every orange shovel indicates a new rank of contribution in projects. |
The golden shovel indication in the last line is added after
your name and can be added as long as it
is the highest in the co-op. Thus, it is possible that the golden shovel is given to somebody with 4 or any other number of orange shovels.
It is also possible that several people get the golden shovel. |
The shovels are calculated over the 5 most recently run projects, weighing the best 4 heaviest and of those 4 the last project weighs heaviest as well. How exactly the formula works is not clear. |
What is clear is that it includes your level, the amount you contributed to each project, the level of the project, the maximum possible amount of co-op members and possibly also what your farm is capable of producing. |

Thus, it is possible that the golden shovel is given to somebody with 4 or any other number of orange shovels. It is also possible that several people get the golden shovel; in case the calculation comes up with a shared 1st position. |

|
I just entered a co-op and my line shows no data is available. Why is that? |
When you have just entered a co-op it is not possible for the formula to calculate anything. After 2 projects have ran in which you were at least in the co-op, your line will show data as well. Do note that the shovels will not be completely accurate yet, as the formula needs at least 5 projects to calculate an accurate rank. |
|
|
In a co-op are several types of tasks. This depends on your status. Your status can be: |
Member:
participate in projects by making
produce, donating collectible items to the projects, signing up as a researcher and donating to the co-op accounts. |
Deputy:
All of the above, plus: starting projects
& researches, editing the news section, accepting members
and starting
coop boosters. |
Leader:
All of the above, plus: Removing members from the cooperative, changing the name for 2,000 gold,
editing the
description of
the cooperative,
change co-op
settings and promoting members. |
Founder: The founder does not have special abilities. His abilities are determined by his
first status symbol. In this post’s example picture the founder is also the leader. This means he will have the leading tasks and abilities. If the
first symbol is yellow, he will have the deputy’s tasks and abilities and if he has no other indication, he will have the member tasks and abilities. This also means, if the founder gave away the lead or if the lead has been passed on because he was inactive for more than 30 days, he cannot get this back unless the current leader gives the lead back to him. Therefore, if you want to give the lead away but not resign in your abilities, think twice. The new leader could kick you out of the co-op. |
